Egypt v Angola: live sports coverage extended after midnight for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier

The Supreme Council for Media Regulation has approved an exceptional extension to the live broadcast window for sports programmes on Friday, allowing satellite channels in Egypt to continue coverage of Egypt’s match against Angola until 01:30.

The decision was made because the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture is scheduled to begin at 22:00. The extension will allow broadcasters to follow and analyse the match after the final whistle.

It was approved by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, chaired by Khaled Abdelaziz, following a recommendation from the Sports Media Performance Control Committee. The committee is chaired by Abdel Salam El Naggar, a deputy president of the State Council and a member of the council.

Egypt will begin their campaign to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations against Angola at Cairo International Stadium, with the visitors travelling to face the hosts.

Ticketing company Tazkarty previously announced that tickets had gone on sale for the match, which is the first fixture in Egypt’s qualifying campaign.

The Egyptian Football Association had also announced ticket prices for Egypt’s matches against Angola and South Africa in friendly fixtures, with each game set to be attended by 40,000 supporters.

Tickets are priced at 20 Egyptian pounds for the third-class section, 50 pounds for the second class, 150 pounds for the first-class section and 300 pounds for the executive box.

Match details and broadcast information

The match will take place on Friday, 25 September, with kick-off scheduled for 22:00.

It will be broadcast on beIN Sport 1, with Ali Mohamed Ali providing commentary. In Egypt, the game will also be shown terrestrially on On Sport, where Mohamed El Kwalيني will commentate.

Egypt and Angola last met at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Their group-stage encounter ended in a goalless draw.

Egypt have never lost to Angola in their previous eight meetings. The record stands at four wins for Egypt and four draws.

Egypt’s qualifying group also includes Malawi and South Sudan, alongside Angola.
