Iraq and Oman share the points in opening Khaleeji 27 match

Iraq were held to a 1-1 draw by Oman in the opening round of the group stage at the Arab Gulf Cup “Khaleeji 27” in Jeddah.

The match at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium began with an early breakthrough for Iraq, as Muhammad Qasim put them ahead after only six minutes. The forward collected the ball inside the penalty area before firing a powerful left-footed shot into the net.

Oman responded after the interval and levelled through Nasser Al-Rawahi in the 67th minute. He broke forward down the left before producing a composed finish to restore parity.

The result gives both teams their first point in the group. Saudi Arabia will face Kuwait in the other match in the same group later on Wednesday night.
