Taher Mohamed has begun a new stage of his rehabilitation after suffering a sprain to the ligaments in his elbow, as Al Ahly continue preparations for their upcoming fixtures.
The forward took part in an individual session around the pitch before completing further treatment work in the gym during Wednesday’s team training at Al Ahly’s El Tetsh Stadium in Gezira.
Taher is following a medical and rehabilitation programme designed to help him recover from the elbow injury. The club’s medical staff are monitoring the daily programmes of all four injured players: Mohamed El Shenawy, Yasser Ibrahim, Taher Mohamed and Ahmed Nabil Kouka.
Al Ahly head coach Hussein Ammouta began the session with a brief tactical lecture before the players carried out a physical programme in the gym. The squad then completed a range of physical and technical exercises, with the emphasis on improving fitness levels and applying specific tactical instructions.
Training ended with a competitive practice match involving all the players who took part in the session. Ammouta used the game to work on a number of predetermined tactical patterns.

Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa confirmed the schedule through the club’s official website. The match against Al-Ittihad Al-Misrati will take place on 28 September, followed by the meeting with Misr Lel Maqassah on 2 October.
The preparation schedule was altered after Al Ahly’s match against Assiut Petroleum in the Egypt Capital Cup was brought forward by one day. The game will now be played on 7 October rather than 8 October.
Moroccan manager Hussein Ammouta has returned to Cairo after completing his holiday in Morocco and is back in charge of the team.
Al Ahly will face Assiut Petroleum in the Egypt Capital Cup, where they are in Group C alongside Eastern Company, ENPPI, El Gouna, Assiut Petroleum and Arab Contractors.
