Chelsea assess Senegalese teenage talent Souleymane Commissaire Faye

Souleymane Commissaire Faye is in England for a trial with Chelsea, according to local media, as the 16-year-old Senegalese midfielder considers a potential move to the Premier League club.

Faye has emerged as one of the most highly regarded young players in Senegal after making a significant impact in youth competitions. He first attracted widespread attention at the African U15 School Championship before strengthening his reputation at the 2025 UFOA A U17 tournament.

He finished both competitions with the same outstanding double achievement: being named the best player and ending as the leading scorer.

Faye was also part of the Senegal team that won the CAN U17 in 2026. His side then reached the final of the 2025 UFOA A U17 tournament, but were beaten by Gambia last Sunday.

The midfielder, who plays for Be Sports Academy in Senegal, now has the opportunity to take the next step in his career. He will undergo tests with Chelsea, where his performances could determine whether the club’s officials decide to pursue a transfer.

A successful trial would open a new chapter for “le” Commissaire, the nickname used for the teenager, whose progress has already taken him beyond Senegal’s borders.
