Cameroon v Comoros: How to watch the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier

Cameroon host Comoros in Garoua on Thursday in one of the standout fixtures from the opening round of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, as both sides begin their campaigns after appearing at the most recent finals.

The match will be played at Garoua’s Stade Roumde Adjia. Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaounde and Japoma had appeared more likely venues, but the decision to take the game to the north of the country is understood to have been made by Fecafoot.

Cameroon v Comoros takes place on Thursday, 24 September 2026, with kick-off at 20:00 Cameroon time (GMT+1). That is 21:00 in France and 22:00 in Comoros.

In France, the match will be shown on beIN Sports Max4. CRTV is expected to provide coverage in Cameroon, while ORTC may broadcast the game in Comoros. Canal+ will be among the broadcasters in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, with beIN Sports Mena showing the fixture in North Africa.

The match marks Cameroon’s first gathering since March. David Pagou’s side will be looking to build on a positive start to the year, although the squad bears little resemblance to the group that reached the quarter-finals of the most recent Africa Cup of Nations.

Captain Nouhou Tolo has not been selected, while experienced players Devis Epassy, Christian Bassogog and Christopher Wooh are also absent. Carlos Baleba and Karl Etta Eyong are unavailable because of injury, and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa has retired from international football.

Andre Onana, Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also remain outside the squad after previously being left out for an extended period.

Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Kofane are among the few established names in the latest selection. Pagou has also called up five newcomers in a squad that has proved controversial, including Bill Nsongo of La Corogne.

Comoros arrive with a new coach after failing to score and being eliminated in the group stage of the most recent Africa Cup of Nations. Hubert Velud is now in charge, while Youssouf M’Changama, Faiz Selemani and El Fardou Ben Nabouhane remain out of the squad after being excluded since the tournament.

The Cœlacanthes will also have memories of their previous meeting with Cameroon. In 2022, the hosts eliminated Comoros 2-1 in the last 16 of their Africa Cup of Nations, in a match surrounded by controversy.

Left-back Chaker Alhadhur had to play in goal after the CAF refused to allow Ali Ahamada to take part, despite his negative coronavirus test.
