Kylian Mbappe has returned to full France training ahead of Friday’s Nations League match against Turkey, easing concerns over his fitness before Zinedine Zidane’s first competitive test as manager.
The Real Madrid forward missed Tuesday’s session after developing flu-like symptoms, but trained normally with his team-mates on Wednesday. His return means France have a full squad available for their next fixture, according to French outlet RMC.
France are due to travel to Turkey on Thursday morning, with the match scheduled for Friday.
The players began Wednesday’s session with about 20 minutes of work in the gym before moving outside for a training session described as being of “intensity”. Tactical preparations were a particular focus as Zidane’s squad continued its preparations for the Nations League encounter.
Mbappe had been limited to gym work on Monday, alongside 10 other internationals who had started for their clubs during the weekend. He then missed the France team’s second collective training session on Tuesday as he dealt with his illness.
The 26-year-old also remained in his room during Tuesday’s lunch and did not eat with his team-mates because of his condition. However, he was not placed in “quarantine”.
