Kylian Mbappe says he will not advise Michael Olise to leave Bayern Munich

Kylian Mbappe has refused to encourage France team-mate Michael Olise to leave Bayern Munich, despite reports linking the forward with a move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Several reports this summer claimed Real Madrid were interested in signing Olise, particularly after his impressive performances for France at the 2026 World Cup. The rumours ultimately came to nothing, with Olise remaining at the Bundesliga club.

Asked about the speculation by German newspaper Bild, Real Madrid striker Mbappe said: “I have heard the rumours, but I know this situation very well. When I was a Paris Saint-Germain player, there were a lot of rumours.”

Mbappe said it would be inappropriate to advise Olise to leave Bayern Munich, where he believes the France international can still fulfil his potential and achieve major success.

“I think it would be disrespectful to advise a player to leave,” Mbappe said, according to French outlet Foot Mercato. “That would be unfair to Bayern, especially because Bayern are a great club where Michael can achieve great things.”

Mbappe also praised Olise’s quality and suggested the forward would attract interest from clubs across the world.

“But one thing is certain: every club in the world would want to sign Michael Olise. He is an exceptional player,” he added.

Olise’s future had been the subject of significant speculation during the summer, with Real Madrid reported to be among the clubs monitoring him. However, the player stayed with Bayern Munich rather than making a move to the Spanish club.

Mbappe’s comments reflect his own experience of sustained transfer speculation during his time at Paris Saint-Germain and his view that Olise remains at a club capable of helping him progress and compete for major honours.
