Egypt’s 2009-born youth team complete main training session ahead of South Korea opener

Egypt’s 2009-born youth team have completed their main training session ahead of their opening match against South Korea at the International Friendship Tournament in Switzerland.

The tournament will take place from 24 September to 3 October, with Egypt using the competition as part of its preparations for the FIFA World Cup in November.

The squad arrived in Switzerland after a five-hour flight and will play four matches during the tournament. Their schedule includes fixtures against South Korea, England and Colombia, followed by a further match in the final stage.

Egypt are due to return to Cairo on 4 October, after completing their four games in the competition.

The tournament in Switzerland will be followed by participation in the Gulf Under-17 Championship, which is scheduled to take place in the middle of October. The two competitions are intended to provide the team with strong preparation and competitive experience before the World Cup.

The Egypt squad for the International Friendship Tournament consists of 22 players.

Goalkeepers: Malek Amr, Mohamed Obaid, Abdel Aziz Mahmoud.

Defenders: Mohamed El Sayed, Adel Alaa, Adam Youssef, Amir Hassan, Mohamed Sabry, Abdullah Amr.

Midfielders: Ahmed Bashir, Omar Abdel Rahim, Mohannad Magdy, Seif Karim, Mohamed Gamal, Youssef Abdullah, Ziad Saudi, Daniel Tamer, Ahmed Safwat, Adham Hossab.

Forwards: Khaled Mokhtar, Amir Abu El-Ezz, Khaled Mahmoud.

Hussein Abdel Latif is in charge of the team, with Ayman Hafez serving as administrative director.

The delegation is headed by Waleed Darwish, a member of the Egyptian Football Association board and the supervisor of the national team.
