Al Masry seek unified playing style through first-team and academy partnership

Al Masry sporting director Ismail Youssef has met Khaled Gadallah, the club’s head of youth development, to agree how the first team and academy can work more closely together.

The meeting, held on Wednesday afternoon, was attended by club vice-president Ragab Abdel Qader, assistant head of youth development Mohamed Moawad and first-team administrative director Mahmoud Gaber.

Al Masry said the discussions focused on establishing a framework for co-ordination between the senior side and the academy, with the aim of making the best possible use of the club’s resources.

The club said in a statement on its official page: “We will unify the training programmes and playing styles, and prepare players who are qualified in every technical, physical and mental aspect to represent the first team.”

The meeting comes days after Al Masry announced seven decisions intended to address their decline in results. Those measures included appointing Youssef as sporting director and the addition of Mahmoud Abdel Hakim.

Ahmed Sami took charge of the first team following the departure of Emad El Nahhas, who left his position after the third round.

Al Masry are 12th in the league table with six points.

Their first match after the international break will be against Al Qanah on 11 October at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium.
