Junior Olaitan says Benin have ‘no pressure’ before Burkina Faso qualifier

Benin midfielder Junior Olaitan says the Guepards are under no particular pressure ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying opener against Burkina Faso.

The two teams meet on Friday, 25 September, at the Stade du 4-Aout in Ouagadougou, with three points at stake in the first round of qualifying.

“We do not have the pressure. They are the ones under pressure, so we will do our job,” Olaitan said.

“We will watch the videos and analyse the way Burkina Faso play. We have already faced them and lost 3-0, so we cannot make the same mistake twice.

“We will approach this match patiently and go in search of the three points.”

Benin are determined to learn from their previous meeting with Burkina Faso, known as the Etalons, as the Guepards seek a positive start to their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
