Pyramids’ Egypt Capital Cup match against Al Qanah brought forward

Pyramids have been notified by the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association that their Egypt Capital Cup group-stage fixture against Al Qanah has been moved forward by 24 hours.

The match will now take place at 17:00 on Wednesday, 7 October at Air Defence Stadium, rather than on 8 October as originally scheduled.

The fixture was rescheduled after Egypt’s international camp was brought to an end on 4 October, following the friendly between Egypt and South Africa. The change allowed the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association to revise the dates of several Egypt Capital Cup matches.

The association has also moved forward the opening group-stage fixtures involving Al Ahly and Zamalek.

“Al Ahly’s match against Petrol Asyut and Zamalek’s match against ZED have been brought forward to 7 October instead of 8 October,” a source from the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association told FilGoal.com.

The source added that the decision followed the change to the end date of Egypt’s training camp, which created an opportunity to play the two matches earlier.

“It will also give both teams a good opportunity to prepare for the league’s summit match on 12 October,” the source said.

Al Ahly will therefore face Petrol Asyut on 7 October, while Zamalek will meet ZED on the same day.

Both fixtures are part of the opening round of the Egypt Capital Cup group stage, also known as the League Cup.
