La Liga refers abusive chants targeting Real Madrid, Barcelona and Spain to disciplinary bodies

La Liga has reported a series of offensive chants heard during matches in the seventh round of Spain’s top flight and the sixth round of the second division.

The incidents have been referred to the Competition Committee of the Spanish Football Federation and the National Commission against Violence for possible action.

La Liga prepares a weekly report detailing chants that encourage violence, contain offensive messages or display intolerance. Those reports are then sent to the relevant authorities, according to Marca.

The latest document included insults aimed at Real Madrid, Barcelona, Spain’s national team and King Felipe VI, as well as abuse directed at players and referees.

The incidents recorded were:

– During Osasuna’s match against Rayo Vallecano, supporters chanted “Spain the whore, the national team the whore” in the second half. They also sang: “Spain is scum, the king is a fascist, and all his followers are sons of whores.”

– In the meeting between Celta and Racing, the chant “Yes, damn it, whore Santander” was heard twice during the game.

– At Sevilla’s match against Barcelona, the visiting club was targeted with “Barcelona, Barcelona, scum!” on three occasions. When a Barcelona player was receiving treatment from the medical staff on the pitch, supporters also shouted: “Kick him, kick him.”

– During Getafe’s fixture with Malaga, fans directed the chant “Oh, oh, every day a fool referees us!” at the referee.

– In the Madrid derby between Atletico de Madrid and Real Madrid, supporters sang “Madridians, sons of whores” three times. The chant “Real Madrid the whore, Real Madrid the whore” was heard once.

They also repeated: “Come and see him, come and see him, this is not a goalkeeper, this is a nightclub whore.”

– The same goalkeeper-related chant was heard during Valencia’s match against Real Sociedad. Supporters also shouted: “Carlos Soler, son of a whore.”

– In Cadiz’s game against Girona, the chant “You son of a whore” lasted for three seconds as the visiting goalkeeper prepared to take a goal kick. It was heard on four separate occasions.

The reports form part of La Liga’s regular process for identifying conduct that may breach Spain’s rules on violence, offensive behaviour and intolerance in football.
