Silas makes progress toward Mainz 05 return

Silas is making encouraging progress in his rehabilitation after suffering a fracture to his tibia and fibula, bringing the Mainz 05 forward closer to a return to team training.

The 27-year-old has reportedly taken significant steps in recent weeks. According to the Allgemeine Zeitung, he could begin participating in parts of Mainz’s team sessions around the middle of October.

That timeline would represent an important milestone for Silas, who has been working patiently to rebuild his fitness following the serious injury. However, there is still no confirmed date for his return to competitive action.

The initial plan is for Silas to join selected portions of training before gradually increasing his workload. Mainz will then assess how his body responds and continue guiding him towards full match readiness.

The club is expected to take a careful approach rather than rush the forward back into Bundesliga competition. After a long rehabilitation period, controlled progress will be essential to reduce the risk of another setback.

Silas’ return would provide Mainz with another attacking option once he is fully fit. The forward has previously shown his ability to add pace, movement and directness in the final third, qualities that could strengthen the team during the second half of the campaign.

For now, the immediate target is clear: rejoin team training and complete each stage of the recovery process.
