Emad El Nahhas to lead Al-Wehdat with Egyptian coaching team

Al-Wehdat have reached an agreement with Emad El Nahhas to become the club’s new head coach, with the Egyptian set to bring a compatriot coaching staff to Jordan.

The new technical team will include Mohamed Mohsen Abu Greisha as assistant manager, Abdelrahman Farouk as assistant coach and Ayman Mohamed as performance analyst.

Al-Wehdat will appoint the goalkeeper coach themselves, according to FilGoal.com.

El Nahhas’ appointment follows a difficult start to the season for the Jordanian club. Al-Wehdat are eighth in the league table after three matches, having collected two points.

They began with goalless draws against Al-Faisaly and Al-Salt before losing 1-0 to Al-Ramtha. The club also suffered a 2-1 defeat by Al-Faisaly in the semi-finals of the Jordanian Super Cup.

Those results led to the dismissal of head coach Waseem Al-Bazour and his backroom staff because of the team’s poor form.

Al-Wehdat have won the Jordanian league title 17 times, with their most recent success coming in 2021.
