Angola train in Morocco before Egypt clash in 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Angola have begun preparations in Casablanca for their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Egypt.

The Palancas Negras will travel to Cairo to face Egypt at Cairo International Stadium next Friday, with kick-off scheduled for 22:00.

Their first training session was held under the management of coach Aliou Cisse and involved 25 players. The remaining three members of the squad are due to join the group on Tuesday.

The match will be Egypt’s first fixture in Group B of the qualifiers, which also includes Malawi and South Sudan.

Tickets released for Cairo fixture

Tazkarti has opened ticket sales for Egypt’s meeting with Angola in the first round of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian Football Association previously announced ticket prices for Egypt’s matches against Angola and South Africa, with 40,000 supporters permitted to attend each game.

Tickets are priced at 20 Egyptian pounds for the third tier, 50 Egyptian pounds for the second tier, 150 Egyptian pounds for the first tier and 300 Egyptian pounds for the executive box.

Egypt hold unbeaten record

Egypt and Angola also met during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with their group-stage match ending in a goalless draw.

Egypt have never lost to Angola. The two sides have played eight times, with Egypt winning four matches and the other four ending in draws.

Egypt are in Group B alongside Angola, Malawi and South Sudan as they begin their campaign to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
