Suez Petrojet schedule five friendlies during international break

Suez Petrojet have arranged five friendly matches during the international break after returning to training under head coach Sayed Eid on Sunday.

The side will begin its programme against National Bank on Wednesday, before meeting Modern Sport on Thursday. A match against Libyan Al-Hilal follows on Monday, with Al Qanah next on Friday, 2 October, and El Sharqia ENPPI on Monday, 5 October.

All five matches will be played at Petro Sport Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00.

Suez Petrojet was formed after the football teams of Petrojet and Suez were merged into a single side. The move is part of a plan to combine popular clubs with corporate-backed clubs.

The team had been given a break after league matches were suspended for the international period. It returned to work on Sunday under Eid as preparations resumed for the next stage of the campaign.

Suez Petrojet go into the friendly programme after beating El Gouna 2-1 in the fifth round of the league.

That result leaves Petrojet eighth in the table with seven points. Their record consists of two wins, one draw and two defeats.

El Gouna are 18th with two points, having drawn twice and lost three matches.

The five-match schedule will give Eid an opportunity to prepare his players while competitive league action is paused, with all of the fixtures taking place at the same venue and starting at the same time.
