Thierry Henry hails Mohamed Salah after hat-trick heroics against Galatasaray

Former France international Thierry Henry has praised Egyptian star Mohamed Salah following his outstanding display for Trabzonspor in their 4-0 Turkish Süper Lig victory over Galatasaray.

Salah produced a sensational performance at Papara Park last Saturday, scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist as Trabzonspor secured a remarkable win over the reigning Turkish giants in the sixth round of the 2026/27 league campaign.

The Egypt captain was directly involved in all four goals, underlining his influence as Trabzonspor recorded one of their most impressive victories of the season.

Henry, speaking to Turkish newspaper Sabah, highlighted the significance of Salah scoring his first hat-trick in the Turkish league against a club of Galatasaray’s stature.

“Imagine scoring your first hat-trick in the Turkish league against one of the country’s biggest clubs, Galatasaray; one must respect his name and his achievements,” Henry said.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona forward also used Salah’s latest performance to defend the Egyptian’s contribution during his time at Liverpool.

“It is clear that Mohamed Salah was never the problem at Liverpool; perhaps there were some…” Henry added, leaving his comments open-ended.

Salah’s performance has further strengthened his early impact at Trabzonspor, with the Egyptian continuing to demonstrate his goalscoring and creative qualities since moving to the Turkish club.
