Patrice Carteron appointed new head coach of UAE club Al Dhafra

Al Dhafra have appointed Frenchman Patrice Carteron as their new head coach, replacing Croatian manager Alen Horvat.

The UAE club announced the appointment on its social media accounts, welcoming Carteron and his coaching staff.

“Al Dhafra welcomes the new head coach of the team, Frenchman Patrice Carteron, and the assisting technical staff, wishing them every success in leading the team towards achieving its objectives,” the club said.

Carteron takes charge with Al Dhafra 12th in the UAE league table, having collected three points from their opening five matches.

The appointment marks the 10th Arab club to be managed by Carteron during his coaching career.

He has previously worked with Wadi Degla, Al Nassr, Al Ahly, Raja, Zamalek, Al Taawoun, Al Ettifaq, Umm Salal and Wydad.

Carteron has had two spells in charge of Zamalek. His first came during the 2019-2020 season, while his second lasted from 2021 to 2022.

He has also managed in the Egyptian league with Wadi Degla and Al Ahly.
