The 6th edition of the UEMOA football tournament is set to begin in Abidjan this Saturday. Eight teams from the West African Monetary Union will participate in the event, with Ivory Coast hosting the tournament. The teams are divided into two groups: Group A consists of Ivory Coast, Togo, Mali, and Burkina Faso, while Group B includes Senegal, Benin, Niger, and Guinea-Bissau. The competition is reserved for players exclusively playing in the championships of UEMOA countries. The tournament will be played in a championship format, and only the top two teams from each group will compete in the final. The opening match features Ivory Coast against Togo, and the tournament concludes on November 2. The winner receives 5 million FCFA, the finalist gets 3 million FCFA, and there are additional awards for the Fair-Play team, the bronze medalist, and the top scorer.
