Egypt beat Algeria 6-3 in first futsal friendly ahead of Africa Cup of Nations

Egypt’s futsal team defeated Algeria 6-3 in Tlemcen as Nader Rashad’s side began preparations for the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The match was the first of two friendlies between the teams during Egypt’s training camp. Khaled Yousry, Mohamed El-Wotidy, Mohamed Saeed, Mostafa Ishaq and Anas Khaled scored for Egypt, with Saeed finding the net twice.

Egypt will face Algeria again on Wednesday, 23 September, in the second friendly. That match will be played in Oran, Algeria.

The two games form part of Egypt’s preparations for the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco from 12 to 21 October.

The tournament will be staged under the Confederation of African Football’s new format as a standalone continental competition. It will not be linked to qualification for the Futsal World Cup.

Rashad heads Egypt’s technical, administrative and medical staff as head coach, with Al-Moataz Bellah Sami serving as assistant coach and Ayman Ragheb working as goalkeeper coach.

Noureddine Ali is the team’s administrator, while Dr Mostafa Mohamed is the team doctor. Walid Hassan is responsible for rehabilitation and massage, and Hosni Nasr oversees equipment.
