Paris Saint-Germain confirm Warren Zaire-Emery injury after France withdrawal

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Warren Zaire-Emery will receive treatment this week after suffering a minor left-thigh injury, following his withdrawal from the France squad.

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes in Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory over Olympique de Marseille on Sunday, contributing to the win in the French Ligue 1 fifth round.

Zaire-Emery was subsequently forced to leave the France camp because of the injury. Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Maghnes Akliouche has replaced him, making Zaire-Emery one of the notable absentees from coach Zinedine Zidane’s first squad.

“After suffering a minor injury to his left thigh during Sunday evening’s match against Olympique de Marseille, Warren Zaire-Emery will continue to receive treatment this week,” Paris Saint-Germain said in a statement published on the club’s official website.

Zaire-Emery has been part of Paris Saint-Germain’s first team since 2022 and has represented France since 2023.
