Juventus confirm successful hand surgery for Randal Kolo Muani after Atalanta win

Juventus forward Randal Kolo Muani has undergone successful surgery on a fractured hand but could return to training in two days, the club have confirmed.

The France striker sustained the injury in an accidental collision during Juventus’ 2-0 victory over Atalanta in Serie A on Sunday. The match was played at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Medical tests showed that Kolo Muani had fractured the proximal phalanx of his hand, requiring surgery and the insertion of stabilising material to secure the bone.

The operation was carried out on Monday at the G Medical centre in Turin, part of Juventus’ Continassa complex. Club doctor De Loris Pegoli performed the procedure.

Juventus said Kolo Muani could resume training after two days, which would allow him to be available to manager Luciano Spalletti during the international break. The club did not provide a further timescale for his return to competitive matches.

The former Paris Saint-Germain forward has scored once and provided two assists in six official appearances for Juventus so far this season.

His injury adds to an already lengthy list of absentees at the Turin club. Manuel Locatelli, Kenan Yıldız, Khephren Thuram, Juan Cabal, Andrea Cambiaso, Kamil Grabara, Jeremy Boga and Jeff Ekatour are also unavailable.
