Al Ahly coach Hussein Ammouta returns to Cairo after short break in Morocco  

Al Ahly head coach Hussein Ammouta will return to Cairo on Monday after spending the remainder of his rest period in Morocco, according to football director Wael Gomaa.

Ammouta was granted time away from the team following Al Ahly’s 2-0 victory over Abu Qir Fertilizers in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Gomaa confirmed that the Moroccan coach will arrive in Cairo after completing some personal commitments and is scheduled to take charge of Al Ahly’s training session tomorrow, Tuesday.

The Red Devils have already resumed training at the El Tetsh Stadium as the club begins preparations for the next stage of the campaign following the international break.

Ammouta and his technical staff have drawn up an intensive training programme aimed at improving the players’ physical and technical condition ahead of the upcoming fixtures.

The squad will undergo two training sessions per day, morning and evening, starting Tuesday, with the programme scheduled to run for one week.

Al Ahly also plan to use the international break to maintain match fitness, with two friendly games lined up.

The Egyptian giants will face Libyan side Al-Hilal on September 30 before taking on Misr El-Makasa on October 3.

Meanwhile, players recovering from injuries have continued with their rehabilitation programmes away from the main group as the technical staff work to ensure the squad returns to full fitness.

Ammouta’s return is expected to provide the team with further direction as Al Ahly prepare for the demanding run of fixtures ahead, with the coaching staff looking to use the break to improve the squad’s physical and tactical readiness.
