Brandon Thomas-Asante recalled by Ghana for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Brandon Thomas-Asante has been called up by Ghana for their opening Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers after being added to the squad as a replacement.

The Coventry striker was left out of Carlos Queiroz’s initial selection but will now join the Black Stars after Viktoria Plzen forward Prince Kwabena Adu was ruled out with a physical problem.

Thomas-Asante has made five appearances since the start of the season, including one start. He is set to be part of the Ghana squad for the first two rounds of qualifying.

Ghana begin their campaign against Cote d’Ivoire in Bouake in a high-profile opening fixture.
