Mohamed Salah set to join Egypt squad for September qualifiers

Mohamed Salah is due to arrive in Cairo tonight to join Egypt’s training camp during the current international break.

FilGoal.com understands that the Trabzonspor forward will take part in the national team’s evening training session after arriving in the Egyptian capital.

Egypt are scheduled to begin their qualification campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations with matches against Angola and South Sudan on 25 and 29 September respectively.

The Pharaohs will also play a friendly against South Africa on 4 October.

Salah comes into the international break in strong form after helping Trabzonspor beat Galatasaray in their final match before the pause in domestic football.

He scored a hat-trick and provided the assist for his side’s fourth goal in the 4-1 victory, played in the sixth round of the Turkish league.

The treble took Salah’s tally for the season to seven goals and moved him to the top of the Turkish league’s scoring chart.

His arrival completes Egypt’s preparations to face Angola and South Sudan in the opening two rounds of the African qualifiers, before the friendly against South Africa in October.
