Randal Kolo Muani is expected to miss around three weeks after suffering a toe fracture while playing for Juventus.
The France forward has undergone surgery and is not expected to return to training or competitive action until after the next international break.
Kolo Muani had begun to regain his form in recent matches, scoring once and providing two assists in six appearances as he looked increasingly capable of making an impact for Juventus.
However, his progress was interrupted during Juventus’ 2-0 victory over Atalanta, according to French website Foot Mercato.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport reports that Kolo Muani fractured one of his toes and required an operation on Monday. Despite the injury, his anticipated recovery period is relatively short.
The 11 October match against Cagliari has been identified as a possible date for Kolo Muani’s return to the Juventus squad.
