Pyramids set for October CAF Champions League meetings with Al-Merrikh Bentiu

Pyramids have been given the dates for their CAF Champions League round-of-32 matches against South Sudanese champions Al-Merrikh Bentiu.

The first leg will be played on Friday, 16 October at 15:30 at Juba Stadium, with the return match scheduled for Saturday, 24 October at 20:00 at Air Defence Stadium.

Pyramids secured their place in the round of 32 after a comprehensive 7-1 aggregate victory over Kenyan side Gor Mahia.

They followed a 2-0 away win in the first leg by beating Gor Mahia 5-1 in the second leg of the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Al-Merrikh Bentiu advanced after overcoming Somali champions Heegan 4-0 on aggregate in the preliminary round.

The South Sudanese club won the first meeting 1-0 before completing the tie with a 3-0 victory in the return match. Both games were played at Juba International Stadium in South Sudan.
