Al Nassr close in on Al Fateh goalkeeper loan with option to buy

Al Nassr are pushing to complete the loan signing of Abdulhadi Al Alwan from Al Fateh’s under-21 side before the transfer window closes on Monday.

The two clubs have reached an agreement for the 20-year-old goalkeeper to move to Al Nassr until the end of the current season, according to sources cited by Al Riyadiya. The deal also includes a clause giving Al Nassr priority to buy Al Alwan’s contract before the end of the campaign.

Al Nassr’s management are now seeking approval from the club’s company and the league to finalise the move. The transfer window for under-21 players closes at 12:00am on Monday, leaving the club limited time to complete the required procedures.

The signing is intended primarily to strengthen Al Nassr’s under-21 squad, which competes in the Jawwy Elite League. However, the agreement would also allow the club to consider using Al Alwan with the first team during the current season.

Al Nassr currently sit third in the Roshn Saudi League, with 16 points from seven matches. They have recorded five wins, one draw and one defeat, scoring 16 goals and conceding seven. They are directly behind the two teams leading the table.

The club’s under-21 side, however, have made a less consistent start in the Jawwy Elite League. They opened their campaign with a 2-1 defeat by Al Fateh before responding with a 4-0 victory over Al Jabalain.

Al Nassr then lost 1-0 to Damac in the fourth round, leaving them some way off the leading teams in the competition.

Al Alwan’s proposed arrival would therefore address a specific need within the under-21 squad by adding another goalkeeper, while also providing Al Nassr with the option of involving him in first-team football this season.
