Junior Dina Ebimbe continues fitness push at Schalke

Junior Dina Ebimbe is still working towards peak fitness at Schalke 04, despite showing encouraging signs in Sunday’s goalless Bundesliga draw against SV Elversberg.

The 25-year-old right winger regularly found promising attacking positions and helped create danger for Schalke. However, his final touch near goal lacked the sharpness needed to turn those openings into decisive chances.

Head coach Miron Muslic was pleased that Ebimbe repeatedly reached threatening areas. “I’m very happy and pleased that he gets into these moments where he can be dangerous,” Muslic said after the match.

The coach believes the player’s lack of full match fitness explains why several attacks did not end more cleanly. “It is clear that he is not yet 100 per cent fit,” Muslic added. “Once he gets there, he will play those balls through more accurately.”

The upcoming international break offers Schalke an opportunity to continue building Ebimbe’s condition. Muslic expects the club to use the period carefully as the former Eintracht Frankfurt player works towards greater consistency.

“We can use the international break precisely in that regard, to bring Ebimbe a little closer,” Muslic said.
