Mohamed Salah handed six-month driving ban in absentia over Rolls-Royce speeding case

Mohamed Salah has been given a six-month driving ban and fined €769 after being convicted in absentia for failing to identify the driver of a speeding Rolls-Royce Spectre.

Warrington Magistrates’ Court in Cheshire issued the ruling in August 2026. The vehicle, worth more than €466,000, was recorded by a mobile speed camera while travelling above the limit in March 2026.

According to The Sun, Salah, the 34-year-old Egypt international and Trabzonspor forward, did not provide police with the identity of the person driving the luxury electric car. That led to a charge of failing to identify the driver responsible for the offence.

The court heard that Salah did not respond to two summonses requiring him to appear. The documents were sent to his mansion, which is valued at more than €5m. As a result, the case was heard without him and the court reached its decision using the information available.

The incident is not the first time Salah has faced consequences for a motoring offence in England.

In 2022, he was caught speeding in a Ferrari F8 Tributo. He was fined and received three penalty points on his driving licence.

The player was also recorded using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield in 2018.
