Egypt has insisted on hosting the match on its facilities, emphasizing security measures, while the Ghana Football Federation (GFA) has reiterated its desire for a neutral ground. The Egyptian Federation has announced that they have received approval for 30,000 spectators to attend the match. FIFA has given Egypt until October 28 to provide security guarantees for the match, and the football governing body will decide whether to proceed with the Cairo Military Stadium as the venue. The previous match in Accra saw Ghana defeating Egypt 6-1.
