Senegalese defender Mouhamed El Bachir Ngom suffers ACL injury at KAA Gent

Senegalese defender Mouhamed El Bachir Ngom has suffered a serious knee injury that is expected to keep him out of action for several months.

The 26-year-old KAA Gent defender sustained the injury during his side’s Belgian Pro League clash against Standard Liège on matchday seven.

Ngom was forced to leave the pitch in the 27th minute after suffering the setback, raising immediate concerns about the extent of the injury.

Those fears were unfortunately confirmed following medical examinations conducted after the match.

The tests revealed that the Senegalese defender has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), a significant injury that requires a lengthy period of rehabilitation.
