Egypt v Angola: 40,000 fans allowed into Cairo Stadium for Africa Cup of Nations qualifier

Authorities have approved a capacity of 40,000 supporters for Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying match against Angola at Cairo Stadium.

Ticket prices have been set at 20 Egyptian pounds for third-class seats, 50 pounds for second class, 150 pounds for first-class seats and 300 pounds for the hospitality box.

Egypt will face Angola on Friday, 25 September, before travelling to South Sudan for another qualifying match on 29 September. That game will kick off at 15:00 Cairo time.

The national team are also scheduled to play South Africa in a friendly on 4 October.

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027.

Egypt’s squad includes four goalkeepers: Mostafa Shobeir, El Mahdy Soliman, Mohamed Alaa and Abdel Aziz El Balouty.

The defenders selected are Mohamed Hany, Tarek Alaa, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Hamdy Fathy, Rami Rabia, Hossam Abdel Meguid, Ahmed Fatouh and Karim Hafez.

The midfield group consists of Marwan Attia, Mohand Lasheen, Emam Ashour, Mahmoud Saber, Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, Ali Mahmoud, Ibrahim Adel and Haithem Hassan.

The forwards named in the squad are Mostafa Abdel Raouf “Zico”, Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush and Hamza Abdelkarim.
