Alexander Isak strike earns Liverpool hard-fought win at Bournemouth

Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a narrow 1-0 victory at Bournemouth on Sunday, as Alexander Isak’s second-half goal settled a closely contested match.

Neither side managed to break the deadlock before half-time, with the opening 45 minutes ending goalless at the Vitality Stadium.

Liverpool finally found the breakthrough in the 57th minute when Sweden international Alexander Isak scored to put the visitors ahead. Footage from beIN SPORTS highlighted Cody Gakpo’s contribution in the build-up to the goal.

Bournemouth pushed for an equaliser after falling behind, but Liverpool’s defence held firm to secure three points for the Reds.

The result ended Liverpool’s wait for a Premier League victory after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Fulham at home in the previous round.

Liverpool now have nine points and sit sixth in the table, while Bournemouth remain on three points in 17th place.
