Hamdy Fathy starts for Al Wakrah against Al Sailiya in Qatar Cup

Hamdy Fathy has been named in Al Wakrah’s starting line-up for their Qatar Cup match against Al Sailiya.

Al Sailiya are visiting Al Wakrah for the opening round of the competition, with the Egypt international continuing his run of starts for the club.

Fathy has started all four of Al Wakrah’s matches this season and has not been substituted in any of them.

After the match, the midfielder will fly to Cairo to join the Egypt national team camp as they prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Al Wakrah announced several weeks ago that Fathy had renewed his contract with the Qatari club until 2029.

He joined Al Wakrah in 2025 from Al Ahly.
