Celtic name Haitham Hassan among substitutes for Rangers derby

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has named his side for the Scottish league meeting with Glasgow Rangers, with Egyptian international Haitham Hassan starting on the substitutes’ bench.

Rangers travel to face Celtic in the headline fixture of the seventh round of the Scottish league, with the match due to begin shortly.

Hassan started Celtic’s Europa League match against Ferencvaros on Thursday, but will not be in the starting line-up for the derby. He was also introduced as a substitute when the two sides met in the Scottish League Cup last week.

That appearance came after Hassan had started four consecutive matches.

The full Celtic line-up was announced by O’Neill, although Hassan is among the substitutes for the meeting with Rangers.

Celtic go into the fixture at the top of the Scottish league with a perfect record, having collected 18 points from six matches.

Rangers are third in the table on 13 points.
