Barcelona make major changes for Sevilla as Dominik Livakovic makes debut

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has named a much-changed starting XI for Saturday’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla, with Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic making his first appearance for the club.

Livakovic replaces the injured Joan Garcia and will make his Barcelona debut at the Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Pau Cubarsi returns to the defence after being rested for the match against Racing and partners Andreas Christensen in central defence. Joao Cancelo starts at left-back, taking the place of Xavi Espart.

Rodri, Pedri and Fermin Lopez form the midfield, with Lopez returning to the starting line-up.

Flick has kept Lamine Yamal and Raphinha in attack, while English forward Anthony Gordon is selected ahead of Karim Adeyemi. The decision reflects the manager’s desire to give Barcelona greater control of the game.

Barcelona starting XI: Livakovic; Eric Garcia, Cubarsi, Christensen, Cancelo; Rodri, Pedri, Fermin Lopez; Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Gordon.
