Axel Sountonoma Taonsa scores twice as Vasteras SK beat Malmo FF

Axel Sountonoma Taonsa scored both goals as Vasteras SK defeated Malmo FF 2-0 in the Swedish league on Saturday.

The Burkina Faso midfielder opened the scoring before adding a second to secure victory for Vasteras SK. The result took Taonsa’s league tally to eight goals this season.

The 2-0 win comes shortly after Taonsa received his first call-up to the Burkina Faso squad from head coach Amir Abdou.

He is due to join the Etalons for his first international camp in the coming days, ahead of Burkina Faso’s next matches in the qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
