Cheick Gnoumou: Burkina Faso defender joins USFA from Salitas

Burkina Faso centre-back Cheick Gnoumou has joined USFA from Salitas, completing a move to the Ouagadougou club on 19 September 2026.

The 24-year-old defender arrives at USFA after two seasons with Salitas, where he had played since returning to the club in August 2024. Gnoumou’s move represents the latest step in a career that has included spells with clubs in Burkina Faso and Morocco.

Gnoumou began his recorded senior career with Salitas before moving to an unnamed club on loan in September 2020. He returned to Salitas at the end of that loan in June 2021, before leaving again for Olympique Khouribga in September 2022.

The centre-back spent the 2022-23 season with the Moroccan club and then moved to Royal FC Bobo in September 2023. He remained there until August 2024, when he rejoined Salitas.

His time at Salitas lasted until the latest transfer, with USFA confirming the arrival of a defender who has experience in both Burkina Faso and Morocco. Gnoumou’s listed position is centre-back, making him a defensive addition for his new club.

The transfer history records no fee for the move, while no contract length has been disclosed. Gnoumou’s arrival at USFA was registered on 19 September, the same date the switch from Salitas was completed.

Born on 23 July 2002, Gnoumou is a Burkina Faso national and has spent much of his career in the country’s domestic game. His earlier spell abroad came with Olympique Khouribga, following his departure from Salitas in 2022.

The move to USFA brings his latest club change within Burkina Faso, following his period with Salitas and earlier time at Royal FC Bobo. Gnoumou has now joined USFA after leaving Salitas on 19 September 2026.
