Al Ahly defender Amr El-Gazar will undergo arthroscopic surgery to reconstruct his anterior cruciate ligament in Munich on Tuesday, 22 September.
The procedure will be carried out under the supervision of German specialist Christian Pral, Al Ahly’s head of medical services Ahmed Gaballah confirmed.
Gaballah will travel to Germany with El-Gazar on Sunday to complete the arrangements, medical examinations and tests required before the operation.
El-Gazar suffered a ruptured knee ligament during Al Ahly’s Egyptian Premier League match against Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
The defender joined Al Ahly in January after moving from National Bank of Egypt.
