Abdelhakim Belaguid: Morocco midfielder joins Ait Melloul on free transfer
Morocco midfielder Abdelhakim Belaguid has joined Ait Melloul from Berrechid on a free transfer, completing the move on 18 September 2026.
The 33-year-old central midfielder makes the switch after two years with Berrechid, where he arrived from CIS Marrakech in July 2024. No transfer fee was paid for the move, which continues Belaguid’s established career in Moroccan football.
Belaguid began his senior career with JS Massira after progressing from the club’s under-21 side. He made the move into the first team in July 2014 and remained there until January 2021, when he joined Ben Guerir on a free transfer.
The midfielder returned to Ben Guerir in July 2022 after a spell with JS Massira, before moving to CIS Marrakech 12 months later. His transfer to Berrechid followed another free move in the summer of 2024.
Ait Melloul become the latest club to secure Belaguid’s services without a fee, with the player adding experience in central midfield to their squad. He is right-footed and was born in Zagora on 1 January 1993.
Belaguid’s arrival comes after he had represented Berrechid during the 2025-26 season. His previous clubs have all been based in Morocco, and the move to Ait Melloul keeps him in the country’s domestic game.
His career has also included appearances in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine and the Excellence Cup. He has recorded three appearances in the former competition and one in the latter, playing a combined 360 minutes.
The transfer was completed on 18 September, with Belaguid leaving Berrechid to begin the next stage of his career at Ait Melloul.
