Abderrahim Amghar: Moroccan midfielder joins Sidi Maarouf on free transfer
Abderrahim Amghar, the 27-year-old Moroccan defensive midfielder, has joined Sidi Maarouf on a free transfer from CM El Marsa.
Amghar completed the move on 18 September 2026, bringing his spell with CM El Marsa to an end after just over a year. His arrival gives Sidi Maarouf a midfielder whose primary role is in front of the defence and whose preferred foot is his right.
The Agadir-born player stands 1.79m tall and has spent recent seasons moving between Moroccan clubs without a transfer fee being paid. Before joining CM El Marsa on 1 July 2025, Amghar played for Chabab Houara, where he also arrived as a free agent in July 2023 after leaving AMS Assa.
His latest competitive record includes two appearances in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine, with 210 minutes played. Those outings provide the most recent statistical record attached to his club career.
Amghar’s move to Sidi Maarouf continues a sequence of free transfers across his senior career. The midfielder first switched from AMS Assa to Chabab Houara, then moved to CM El Marsa before making his latest change of club.
The transfer places Amghar at his fourth recorded club since the start of the 2023-24 season. His career path has remained within Moroccan football, with each of his three most recent moves completed without a fee.
Sidi Maarouf is now the latest destination for a player whose profile is built around the defensive midfield position. Amghar’s recorded physical details list him at 1.79m, while his right-footed preference further defines his role in the centre of the pitch.
The move was completed on 18 September 2026, with Amghar leaving CM El Marsa to join Sidi Maarouf as a free agent.
