PSV consider ending Adamo Nagalo contract after medical issue rules him out for season

Adamo Nagalo will not play for PSV again this season because of a medical problem, according to Eindhovens Dagblad and De Telegraaf.

The Burkina Faso international’s condition is also understood to have contributed to the collapse of a proposed move to FK Corum in Turkey. PSV are now considering terminating his contract, despite the agreement having three years left to run.

De Telegraaf reported that there was no clear information available about Nagalo’s situation. PSV have declined to comment on the defender’s health, citing respect for his privacy.

What is known is that the 22-year-old will not feature again this season. Even when fit, however, Nagalo was rarely selected by PSV manager Peter Bosz.

The right-footed defender joined PSV from Nordsjaelland in mid-2024 for seven million euros, but has been unable to establish himself in the team. He moved to Konyaspor on loan in Turkey for the second half of last season.

Nagalo returned to PSV this summer, with the club hoping to secure a permanent transfer elsewhere. That did not happen, partly because of an unspecified injury.

His absence from the club’s current squad has further fuelled suggestions that his time in Eindhoven is coming to an end. Nagalo is no longer listed among PSV’s players on the club’s website and was not included in the team photograph taken this week.

Both Dutch newspapers describe the cancellation of his contract as a serious possibility. Such a move would bring an early end to a spell in which Nagalo has made only 12 appearances for PSV.
