Colombia squad named for Mexico, Paraguay and Peru friendlies without Luis Diaz

Colombia manager Nestor Lorenzo has announced a 27-man squad for the three friendly matches against Mexico, Paraguay and Peru, with Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz omitted.

Lorenzo agreed with Bayern Munich’s management that Diaz should be rested during the international break to recover from the demands of a congested fixture schedule.

Nottingham Forest defender Daniel Munoz and Galatasaray centre-back Davinson Sanchez are included in the squad.

Colombia begin their schedule against Mexico on 26 September, before facing Paraguay and Peru.

Colombia’s latest World Cup campaign ended in the last 16 against Switzerland. The match finished 0-0 before Switzerland won the tie on penalties.
