Marcelo Allende says this could be his final season at Mamelodi Sundowns

Marcelo Allende has admitted that the 2025-26 campaign could be his last with Mamelodi Sundowns, but the Chilean midfielder says he will remain fully committed to the club while he is still at Chloorkop.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Brazilians in 2022 and has become an important member of the team, was asked about his future before Sundowns’ meeting with Al Ahli.

Allende said his family would support whichever decision he makes about the next stage of his career.

“I think I’m very professional. I have my last year here for now and I will try to do my best in the final year and I will do as always anything I do in the future, now, in the present and my family give me this idea and I will respect all of them,” he said.

His comments suggest that Allende is approaching the final year of his current spell with Mamelodi Sundowns, although he did not give details about what he may do after the season.

For now, the midfielder’s focus is on helping the club produce a result against Al Ahli. He said Sundowns must demonstrate their ability when the two sides meet.

“I must say we need to prove ourselves and get the results in the game,” Allende concluded.

The match will be played at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
