Paris Saint Germain open talks to extend Désiré Doué contract

Paris Saint-Germain have opened talks to extend the contract of France international of Ivorian descent Désiré Doué.

According to reports, PSG have opened discussions with Doué over a new long-term agreement as the club seeks to reward his rapid development since arriving from Stade Rennais.

The 21-year-old forward currently has a contract with the Parisian giants until June 2029, but PSG are keen to extend his stay by a further two or three years. Negotiations are reportedly centred on a deal that could keep him at the Parc des Princes until either 2031 or 2032.

Doué has established himself as one of the most exciting young players in Luis Enrique’s squad since making the move from Rennes. His technical ability, versatility and attacking quality have made him an increasingly important figure in PSG’s plans.

Although his start to the 2026/27 campaign has not quite matched the exceptional standards he set during the previous season, the club remain convinced about his long-term value and are determined to avoid uncertainty surrounding his future.

The proposed new contract would also come with a substantial increase in salary, reflecting Doué’s growing importance within Enrique’s squad and his status as one of the club’s key young assets.

PSG’s decision to open negotiations with Doué forms part of a wider strategy to retain the core of the squad that has delivered success on the European stage.

The French champions are also working on new agreements for two other high-profile attacking players, Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Dembélé’s renewal is reportedly close to being formalised, with the France international expected to commit his future to PSG until 2030.

Kvaratskhelia is also involved in discussions over an improved contract as PSG look to keep their leading attacking options together for the long term.

For Doué, the proposed extension represents another major step in his development at PSG. Having arrived from Rennes as a highly rated prospect, he has since progressed into an important member of Enrique’s first-team plans.

The club’s willingness to offer him a deal potentially running until 2032 underlines the confidence PSG have in his ability to remain a central figure in their project for years to come.
