Michael Olise warns ‘I will end up getting beaten’ over Bundesliga challenges

Michael Olise has voiced his frustration at the heavy challenges he has faced in the Bundesliga, saying he fears he will “end up getting beaten” if the treatment continues.

The Bayern Munich winger has become increasingly unhappy with the way opponents have dealt with him since the start of the season, and believes referees are not doing enough to protect him.

His concerns have come to the fore before Friday’s meeting with Union Berlin, one of the Bundesliga’s most physically demanding sides. Olise has openly complained about the lack of protection he feels he is receiving from match officials.

The France international has repeatedly sought the referee’s intervention during Bayern Munich’s six matches in all competitions, calling for greater action against challenges he considers excessively aggressive from opposing defenders.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Olise said: “I will end up getting beaten,” expressing his concern that the continued force of the tackles could eventually lead to serious consequences.

The 5 goals he has scored for Bayern Munich this season and his continued fitness have not eased his frustration. Instead, the winger remains concerned by the physical approach used by opponents when attempting to stop him.

His latest complaint follows Bayern’s goalless draw with Schalke, a match in which he was particularly unhappy with the nature of the challenges he faced. He believes the officials allowed defenders too much freedom to use force against him without intervening sufficiently.

Olise’s comments highlight the difficulties he says he is encountering against a style of defending based on strong physical contact. While he has continued to contribute regularly in front of goal, he feels the issue of player protection remains unresolved.
