Botafogo coach Tite hails Hakim Ziyech’s quality after joining club

Botafogo head coach Tite has praised the technical qualities of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, insisting that the experienced attacker can add significant quality to the Brazilian side if he maintains good physical condition.

Ziyech recently joined Botafogo after reaching a mutual agreement with Wydad AC to terminate his contract, bringing an end to his spell with the Moroccan giants and opening the door to a new challenge in Brazilian football.

The arrival of the former Ajax, Chelsea and Galatasaray star has generated considerable interest, with expectations high regarding what he can offer Botafogo in the attacking third.

Tite, who has taken charge of the Brazilian club, spoke positively about Ziyech’s footballing qualities and highlighted the range of technical attributes possessed by the left-footed attacker.

“It is clear that Ziyech is widely renowned… He is a left-footed wide player possessing great technical quality and the ability to play, pass, deliver long balls, and finish from mid-range; he possesses a range of important technical skills.”

The experienced Brazilian coach believes Ziyech’s technical ability could make him an important addition to the Botafogo squad, particularly if he is able to reach and maintain the required level of physical fitness.

“As long as his physical condition is good, he will add quality to the team,” Tite added.

Ziyech’s ability to create chances, deliver dangerous passes and crosses, and threaten goal from distance has been one of the defining features of his career.

The Moroccan international has also accumulated considerable experience at the highest level of European football, having represented clubs including Ajax, Chelsea and Galatasaray before his move to Wydad and subsequently Botafogo.

Tite also underlined the value of Ziyech’s experience and footballing background, with the Moroccan expected to bring both technical quality and experience to the Botafogo dressing room.

The coach will now look to integrate the 33-year-old into his tactical plans as Ziyech begins his latest chapter in South American football.
