Al Masry announce seven-point plan after three straight league defeats

Al Masry have announced seven measures to address a run of poor results that has left the club under pressure, including a 25% deduction from players’ contracts and the appointment of Ismail Youssef as sporting director.

The decisions follow three successive defeats in the league, with Al Masry’s latest setback a 2-0 loss to Al Ittihad Alexandria in the Mediterranean derby during the fifth round.

The club said it would provide full support and all necessary resources to the first-team coaching staff, led by Ahmed Sami, to help create the conditions for success.

Former player Mahmoud Abdel Hakim will also join Sami’s coaching staff.

Al Masry will open nominations for the election of the club’s board of directors during the second half of October.

The club added that 25% would be deducted from players’ contracts because of the team’s recent league results. The Egyptian Football Association has been informed of the decision.

Any player judged to be underperforming or contributing to a negative atmosphere within the squad will be permanently excluded and placed on the transfer list for sale in January.

Al Masry also warned that any member of the first-team administrative or technical structure found to be negligent or failing to follow the club’s policies would be dismissed immediately.

Sami took charge of Al Masry after Imad El Nahhas left his position following the third round of the league.

Al Masry are 12th in the league table with six points.

Their first match after the international break is scheduled for 11 October, when they will face El Qanah at Suez Canal Authority Stadium.
