Al Ahly manager Ammouta seeks new left-back as Tawfik Mohammed struggles to settle in

Al Ahly manager Hussein Ammouta is reportedly seeking a new left-back ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window as new signing Tawfik Mohammed continues to struggle to settle into the team.

The Egyptian giants entered the international break on a positive note after securing a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Abu Qir Fertilizers in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Despite the result, Ammouta has identified several areas that require strengthening and has begun discussing his plans with the club’s management as the January window approaches.

As per reports, Ammouta held a meeting with Al Ahly officials before the team’s league encounter against Al Mokawloon Al Arab to discuss the squad’s needs.

The Moroccan tactician identified several positions that need reinforcement, including the centre-back and midfield departments.

Ammouta also requested the signing of a new left-back while asking the club to give him more time to evaluate Tawfik Mohammed, who joined the club during the summer transfer window.

The player has yet to make an appearance for Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League since his arrival.

Tawfik Mohammed was included in the squad for the 2-0 victory over Abu Qir Fertilizers, but he remained an unused substitute.

With the winter transfer window approaching, Ammouta is expected to continue monitoring Tawfik Mohammed before making a final decision, while the club could still move for another left-back to strengthen the position.
